Short women are sexy
Short women are more likely to be married and to have children than taller women, according to a New Scientist article. The reasons may be connected to fertility:
“But we know that men are drawn to things that in our evolutionary past would have been a cue for fertility. And in one sense tallness is a negative cue – tall women reach puberty later and probably their secondary sexual characteristics develop somewhat later,” he says.
Which is a round-about way of saying that short women are sexy.

Ah, but read the New Scientist article carefully, because one of the oddities of the piece is that short women are more likely to die in childbirth.
I do think that humans trend toward liking the height disparity. Women like men to be taller. Men like it too. Big surprise?

I’m 5′7 and I’ve always had shorter men than me chase me. I’ve had taller boyfriends but I’d have to say over all short men think tall women are sexy but I do think shorter men prefer shorter women for longer relationships. Just speaking from experience. I wish it were not so because most of the shorter men have many fantastic qualities.

Hello i am a 5′8 woman and i find it very offensive that every man seems to think shorter women are better!!! First why should height matter? Second just because a woman is short does not mean a thing Mr. Richard Bennett! Tall women are just as sexy!
You can tell how messed up you are by how you judge others. A woman who is 5ft4 and ‘oh dear’ can’t be with a man who is under 6ft doesn’t want a man she wants a daddy figure in her life –what she really needs is to grow up. (and pulleeeease dont give me that nonesense about how it doesnt look good and short men have to just ‘accept’ it etc). A man who ONLY likes women who are shorter than him has a power/fear problem (cant have them females be like us no siree bob).
There are also people who say ‘all Americans are equal’ but God forbid I date a ‘fellow American’ of a different race or color (what would saintly old mama think).
Or men who think that a woman with a few extra pounds is some sort of lost cause or women
who think the same thing for men!
If you fall into any of these categories you DESERVE to be alone you really really do you scumbags.
Evolution might say one thing about short women or men etc but good psychology says another. Recent studies show that men and women who are within plus or minus one or two inches of each other make the longest lasting couples. Personally I think people have to stop accepting this ‘hard wiring’ in them –rebel against your ‘evolutionary’ heritage stop being such monkeys –aim for the stars walk among the gods.

Men, prefer shorter women because they look sexy and have a more femine physique. Also I have heard short women have a small vagina than taller women. I believe that many men also feel more powerful with women who they can tower over as they are the protector.

Well, I am 5 feet tall and have found that most men I meet prefer tall women. Or rather they all seem to prefer tall, thin blondes…..I guess the real men who realize how sexy a short, brunette, shapely woman is must not live in the South…

Rk is right –if you scratch under the surfaces of many not all but many ‘personal preferences’ you find discrimination masquerading as ‘preferences’.
Simple reason… tall women see themselves as sexier than others, therefore they are much more selective- and in my mind this is wrong.

Short women are way more sexy than tall girls because they stay cute their whole lives where tall women start to look like men right around 50 years old. short girls are easier to hug and hold and you can pick them up and take them to bed, they make you feel stronger , but the #1 reason that short girls are better is because you don’t have to reach so high to slap them

Seeing how the woman decides who they are going to be with, height is an issue.
Being 5’3 and some change, I know only to well that even shorter women than me want some one that is 5’10” or taller. Look on any personal dating page and see for yourself what ladies want. It is not the men who have a problem with height. They might prefer to have some one around there height, but for a woman it is mandatory to be not only their height but to be taller. Now as far as men not liking someone because she is fat, that might be true, but that is comparing apples and oranges. Height can not be controlled but weight can. ( and don’t give me the sad story about the gland problems be cause most people don’t have that!) Weight shows how that person treats themselves. May it be from over eating and drinking to someone who works a lot and lets there body go. But what ever the reason may be, that person is not taking care of there health and that is a logical reason not to be with some one. By the way….I’m tall where it counts………
I’m 6′2, and I’ve been dating a 5′9 guy for over a year. I don’t know if that really proves anything, but I always thought that curves were more a sign of fertility than height. Every woman has differnt curvature. Also, my best friend is 5′2, and when we would go out, more guys would notice me than her, but would approach her first. So this has made me think that (correct me if I’m wrong here) guys are more intimidated by taller women, and therefore go for shorter women. That’s why my policy with dating shoter men has always been, ‘if they don’t have a problem with it, then neither do I’. It all comes down to confidence.

The reason why tall chicks–or short chicks–are in is PREDOMINANTLY because of the way the media privileges supermodels and drag queens nowadays. In the early part of the century, short, curvy chicks were in because that was considered more feminine. In the latter part of the century, tall chicks were in because suddenly designers and marketers realized that fashion was a lucrative industry. And to get maximum effect, what could be more striking than a woman built like a football player?
Nowadays, the media goes on and on ad nauseum about how perfect tall chicks are–how long their legs are, how elegant they are, etc. Perfect BS. I’ve looked at a lot of tall, short, and average women–just to see how much truth there is in that claim–and I have to confess that no one category is better proportioned than another. Believe me, I’ve seen enough tall women with only short and average legs for their height. For instance, someone who is 5′9″ w/ a 33″ inseam is proportionately speaking NO LONGER LEGGED than someone who is 5′5″ with a 31″ inseam–or 5′3″ and 30″ for that matter! You’re only perfectly AVERAGE. And trust me, someone who is tall with relatively short legs is even more hideous than a short person with short legs, because it’s even more noticeable when that person’s butt is three quarters down from their head. So get off your high horse!
Another claim I get fed up with is that short people who like to dominate have a “Napoleon complex.” Give me a break. What about tall people who like to dominate? They’re just as tiresome, thinking that they are entitled to everything just because they’re tall. When I’m with people like that, I enjoy cutting them down to size and showing them who’s BOSS because in the end it’s intellect–NOT height–that privileges dominance!

So true… I’m 5″2′ and im considered short, but i guess it’s not that bad..shorter ppl are cute sometimes…but other times it’s just plain depressing, like how ppl always say i could’ve been a model if i just had height, and also this one time i was walkin past these two hot guys and one of them said i was cute, but then his friend was like “no, she’s like 13, she’s too young for you”. I’m actually 15, so that just made me more self-conscious about my lack of stature…i guess it’s somewhat true when they say short individuals have fewer opportunities for romantic relationships..
I also realized this world is growing taller..when im out on the streets, nearly everyone is at least a head taller than me, it really pisses me off sometimes– especially when people don’t notice you and they bump into you, and they wonder what they just walked into.
There’s also a lot of pretty tall ppl at my high school too. I wear 4 inch platforms almost all the time now and im still considered “just average” or maybe even below that at my school. But the notion that some famous celebrities and movie actors/resses (such as avril lavigne & christina aguilera) are also short gave me hope. I used to think that taller ppl had more opportunities in the workplace. Now i learned that may not be true at all.
The government should really add “discrimination of stature” under “Equality Rights” in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The majority of ppl who are not suffering from shortness often over-look this issue, because seriously– being discriminated against because of your height is just as much a prejudice as being dicriminated against because of your race or gender. We can’t control height.
Though for me, I tend to go for taller girls (im bisexual), i know it’s ironic, but i prefer someone who looks significantly different than me, or else it’ll seem like im making out with myself. I also have a tall fetish, so i prefer tall over short. I think it’s also a matter of dominance/power-exchange as well. Whenever im with a shorter person than me, i always feel like im the one who should be the responsible one, and the one who should always take the lead, no matter what. Since im not the person to want to deal with that kind of pressure all the time, i opt for taller partners because when you’re the shorter one of a couple, you feel like it’s “ok” for you to act
more “immature” , “unresponsible”, and “passive” than your partner. And the thing is– im not much of an assertive person myself, so that’s why i always like to be the shorter one.
I am aware that if i had been born tall, then maybe i would be a little more assertive and confident, but unfortunately, that’s not the way things are.
