In fact, I've never believed that Bush (Junior or Senior) are conservatives. They're in it for the power. How about this -- Miers told Bush that she would vote against Roe v. Wade given the opportunity. Bush told Rove to tell Dobson. Rove did. Bush nominated Miers. It's similar to this: Saddam Hussein attempted to assassinate Bush, Sr. "W" had the opportunity for some Texas-stye vengeance on the old boy who tried to kill his daddy. Bush told Wolfowitz, Rove and Powell to arrange it. Wolfowitz and Rove cooked up a rationale, Powell held his nose and served it, and Hussein awaits his fair trial and inevitable execution.
