As I was saying

The Internet isn’t as well understood as it might be, even by its most ardent admirers. Network engineer-turned venture capitalist Allan Leinwand explains:

I have a major problem with many of the Web 2.0 companies that I meet in my job as a venture capitalist: They lack even the most basic understanding of Internet operations.

Leinwand has examples. This criticism applies equally to those who want to shackle the Internet with needless regulations. And to yours truly, as I certainly don’t come close to understanding the Internet from an operational point of view. It’s one thing to know protocols and architecture, and quite another to understand how to manage a router pool.
