California&#8217;s leading man-hater was ecstatic with the results:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nKuehl said she is &#8220;very happy&#8221; with Tuesday&#8217;s results on the Democratic side and fully expects less opposition from the Assembly when &#8220;progressive Democratic agenda&#8221; bills come out of the Senate. <P><br \/>\nBut Kuehl doesn&#8217;t like to call it left-wingers against moderates. She says, rather, that she&#8217;s backing traditional Democrats against pro-business candidates who have moved far right of the Democratic agenda of taking care of poor people and protecting workers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If Kuehl&#8217;s happy, I&#8217;m not. <P>A Democratic sweep of statewide offices is a possiblity now that the extreme candidates are in the mix:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\nDemocratic incumbents are running for governor, attorney general, treasurer and lieutenant governor.<br \/>\n<P><br \/>\nOther races, for controller, secretary of state, insurance commissioner and superintendent of public instruction, feature well-financed Democratic contenders.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And that&#8217;s from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ocregister.com\/news\/0308gopcci5.shtml\">Orange County Register<\/a>, no liberal organ.\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8212; The Stockton Record points out that the more extreme members of both parties did well Tuesday, partly because of the newly Gerrymandered disctricts.
