I&#8217;ve just checked the new alternative to Google, Cuil (pronounced &#8220;cool&#8221;) and found it amazingly accurate. They show me as the number 1 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuil.com\/search?q=Richard%20Bennett&amp;sl=long\">Richard Bennett<\/a> and the number 1 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuil.com\/search?q=Bennett&amp;sl=long\">Bennett<\/a>. Very sweet, even though I&#8217;m only the number 12 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cuil.com\/search?q=Richard&#038;pi=11&#038;sl=long\">Richard<\/a>; that gives me something to strive for.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE: Esteemed BITS blogger Saul Hansell interviewed Cuil president Anna Patterson on her &#8220;36 hours of fame&#8221; and <a href=\"http:\/\/bits.blogs.nytimes.com\/2008\/07\/29\/no-bull-cuil-had-problems\/\">got an explanation<\/a> of the site&#8217;s first day troubles: \u00e2\u20ac\u0153We were overwhelmed with traffic that was not the standard pattern,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Ms. Paterson said. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153People were looking for their names a lot.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n<p>Doh.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They don&#8217;t know it yet, of course.
