They’re both silly, but Glenn’s quote in the Sully post you link to is dead wrong. We already won the war…We need to be concerned with winning the peace and we’re doing a piss poor job. We have 150,000 troops in Iraq and we can’t drive from Baghdad to the airport. There is no Iraqi government to speak of and it is going to take an incredible diplomatic effort to keep things from unraveling into civil war. If the Iraq operation were purely a military matter, Glenn may have a valid point about torture and prisoner abuse. However, in an essentially political contest, they are clearly harmful to the goals we are trying to achieve. When is this Administration going to learn how to make a deal that actually might achieve a desired end rather than continue to bully its way through every single issue.
Glenn is apparently putting words in Sully’s mouth because he never really said that wrapping in the Israeli flag is torture. He likes to play that strawman game a lot, actually.
