No complaints

Here’a a quote of the day from Roger L. Simon To complain about the absence of WMDs at this point would be like having liberated Auschwitz during WWII only to grouse that there wasn’t any cylon-b in the concentration camp, just dead bodies. Totten noticed it too.

  1. that would be a great analogy if it weren’t for a few small points:

-making analogies between Iraq and 1940’s Germany is like comparing the NBA finals to my 1978 summer basketball camp finals. Auschwitz is where a REAL lot of people (vast majority were civilians) were rounded up, and killed because of their race in a mass murder. Iraq and their WMDs are apples, Nazi Germany are oranges.

-going to war in Iraq was done with a policy of pre-emption, with no history of attacks on US. same in WWII ?

I’m sorry, I’m all for Saddam being gone and Iraq having democracy, but when US soldiers are being killed, it better be to prevent something that actually could have happened. You can’t have a policy of pre-emption, put US soldiers and danger, and not have people wanting make sure if was for a REALLY good reason. Like _really_ destroying Al Qaeda. Like going after people who are actually threatening us.
