The Seattle Times is a liberal paper, a virtual house organ of the Democratic Party in Seattle. But even it can’t ignore the fact that the number of illegal votes cast by felons in Washington exceeded the Democratic Party candidate’s 129-vote margin of victory:

The Times, reviewing felony convictions as far back as 1997, identified 129 felons in King and Pierce counties who were recorded as having voted in the Nov. 2 election. Another 23 likely voted. Several methods were used to confirm the findings.

And felon voting was just the tip of the electoral iceberg in this election.

  1. Republicans’ use of felon voting as a factor in their lawsuit has been countered by state Democrats, who say Republicans must show not only that felons voted illegally, but that if their votes were subtracted from each candidate’s total, Rossi would have won. The judge hearing the case will consider that issue next month.

Given the fact that Republicans support the outing of CIA operatives, death squads, attorney general and secratary of state nominees lying under oath, why would you presume that the felons would be Democrats?

  2. None of whom were ever convicted of a crime, unlike…Oliver North (conviction overturned on technicality), John Poindexter (pardoned), that governor of Connecticut…OK, the dems had a crack-smoking mayor of Washington, but you know how many Republican child-molesters there were out there? Say, for example, the former mayor of Waterford, Connectiuct?

  3. McGreavey of course wasn’t indicted for anything… but I’ll see your McGreavey and raise you a that guy from Virginia who was Pat Robertson’s congressman…

  4. Clinton was impeached, as I recall. Do you remember any of that? Had something to do with violating somebody’s civil rights and then suborning perjury to keep it quiet. I can look it up for you if you forgot.

  5. But not convicted.

    As Nixon would’ve been.

    As Reagan should’ve been.

And nobody ever convicted Clinton of any crime, as I recall. You do remember that, don’t you?

  6. As I recall he was ordered to pay a $90,000 fine because a court found him guilty of contempt. He also made an $850,000 settlement in the civil rights case, and had to surrender his license to practice law. Martha Stewart’s in prison for less than that.

    Impeached, tried and convicted.

And speaking of party virtue, let’s not forget Robert Byrd, the only Senator to vote against both Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas, the only two black men appointed to the Supreme Court. Byrd’s ranting against Condi Rice fits a familiar pattern with the Ku Klux Klan’s own party.
