  1. With all those Davis’s in the family tree, one wonders if there was some freak genetic mutation on the Bush family tree that created Gov. Gray Davis?

  2. To Richard Bennett: I’m pleased and flattered that you find my site (Political Graveyard) interesting or useful.

To Will Wagner: Davis is a pretty commonplace name, but if there’s a Gray Davis connection (no more distant than fourth cousin for each link), I’d be happy to add it to the database and web site.

  3. To Richard Bennett: I enjoyed your historical look into the Political gene pool of the Bush family. I recently purchased The Colonel Walker House in Lenox Massachusetts and found your blog and Larry Kestenbaum’s political graveyard site in my search of the William Walker name. I think you should actually go back to William P.Walker’s father, William Walker, who was born in Rehoboth in the County of Bristol in 1751 and moved to Lenox in 1773. William P. Walker was born in 1778, the son of William Walker and his first wife Sarah who died in 1789. William Walker was a member of the convention that framed the Massachusetts constitution in 1780, after distinguishing himself in the revolutionary War. He held judgeships in Berkshire County and served as the first State Senator of the Berkshire Distrct in 1783. Gov. Sam Adams appointed him Judge of Probate in1795, a position he resigned in 1824 when his son, Hon. William P. Walker succeeded him. William Walker accomplished quite a lot in the then frontier community of Lenox, massachusetts. If you have an interest, check out the webpages of the Lenox Historical Society.
